📣 National Civics Bee (Idaho) — Middle School Student Essay Deadline Feb. 3!

Idaho PTA is excited to help spread the word about the National Civics Bee—a prestigious civics competition for Idaho 6th–8th grade students, now launching in Idaho for the first time!

Students will write a 4-paragraph essay identifying a real community issue and proposing solutions—connecting their ideas to America’s founding principles and civic education.

🗓️ Deadline to apply: Tuesday, February 3, 2026 (11:59 PM Hawaii Standard Time)

Who Should Participate

✅ Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
✅ Public, charter, private, and homeschool students

Why It Matters

This is a fun and meaningful opportunity for students to:

  • strengthen writing, critical thinking, and public speaking skills

  • explore real-world solutions and civic leadership

  • compete for prizes and recognition

Prize Highlights

🏆 State Final 1st Place: $1,000
🏫 School Prize: potential $5,000 donation to the winner’s school
🇺🇸 National Championship: chance to win $100,000 with a 529 contribution
