Idaho PTA Standing Committees

Standing Committees are the permanent working committees of Idaho PTA. They are established directly in the bylaws and continue from year to year to support the core governance, financial oversight, elections, convention planning, and legislative priorities of the organization.

Standing Committees are ongoing, formally named, and not dependent on a single administration. Their existence ensures continuity, accountability, and institutional knowledge regardless of leadership changes.

The current Standing Committees defined in the bylaws are: Bylaws, Election, Budget and Finance, Nominating, Convention, and Legislative Committee

These committees report to the Board of Directors and operate under responsibilities outlined in the bylaws and Standing Rules.

Idaho PTA Special Committees

Special Committees are flexible, purpose-driven groups formed to address specific projects, priorities, or emerging needs within Idaho PTA. Unlike Standing Committees, they are temporary and not fixed in number or title.

Under the bylaws, the Board of Directors may establish or dissolve Special Committees as needed, and members are appointed by the President with Board approval. This structure allows Idaho PTA to respond quickly to new opportunities while keeping the permanent governance structure streamlined.

There is no preset list of Special Committees in the bylaws—only the authority to create them when appropriate, ensuring adaptability from year to year.
