Stephen is a dedicated father of seven and proud grandfather whose PTA journey began more than 16 years ago as a parent wanting to be actively involved in his children’s education. What started at the local school level has grown into a deep commitment to strengthening family-school partnerships and supporting PTA leaders and communities across Idaho.

Stephen currently serves as Vice President of Idaho PTA, where he focuses on supporting, developing, and strengthening local PTA units so they have the tools, resources, and guidance needed to thrive. He previously served as President of Idaho PTA and continues to champion strong leadership, meaningful family engagement, and inclusive practices throughout the association.

At the local level, Stephen serves as President of 4 The Love of Kinship PTA, a community-based PTA dedicated to supporting and empowering kinship families. His work with kinship caregivers has strengthened his commitment to ensuring families of all backgrounds and circumstances have a voice, access to resources, and opportunities to advocate for the children in their care. He also serves as Vice President/President-Elect of Owyhee Elementary PTA, continuing to support students, families, educators, and local PTA leadership.

Nationally, Stephen serves on the National PTA Nominating & Leadership Recruitment Committee, helping identify, recruit, and develop leaders who can advance the mission of PTA across the country.

As a father, grandfather, kinship caregiver, and longtime PTA leader, Stephen believes strong families and strong PTAs create stronger schools and communities. He is especially passionate about supporting Title I schools, kinship families, and local PTA leaders while working toward a shared goal: making every child’s potential a reality.
