Stephen Rudy

Director of Local Unit Engagement

Stephen is a dedicated father of seven children (ages 24, 22, 21, 18, and 8-year-old triplets) and proud grandfather to an 8-month-old grandson. With more than 16 years of PTA involvement, Stephen began his journey as a parent seeking to be actively engaged in his children’s education—an experience that has grown into a deep commitment to strengthening family-school partnerships across Idaho.

Stephen currently serves as Idaho PTA Director of Unit Engagement, where he focuses on supporting, developing, and strengthening local PTA units to ensure every community has the tools and guidance needed to succeed. He also serves as President of Owyhee Elementary PTA in Nampa and as Secretary of 4 The Love of Kinship PTA, a community-based unit supporting kinship families.

In addition, Stephen is an active member of both the Skyview Band Boosters PTA and Skyview Project Graduation PTA, supporting students and families through high school programs and milestone events.

A Past President of Idaho PTA, Stephen has worked to expand family engagement, build inclusive practices, and support leaders at every level of the association. At the national level, he serves on the National PTA Nominating & Leadership Recruitment Committee, helping identify and develop future leaders across the country.

Stephen is passionate about ensuring every child’s potential becomes a reality by empowering families, supporting educators, and building strong, inclusive communities—especially in Title I schools and among kinship families. He believes that strong, supported PTA units are the foundation for lasting impact in schools and communities.
