Submit Local PTA Unit Board List

Starting strong begins with keeping your board roster up to date! Submitting your Local Unit Board List ensures smooth communication, statewide support, and helps your PTA stay in good standing for the year ahead. Easily fill out online form. Filling out the online form is quick and easy—and don’t forget to update your Registered Agent with the Idaho Secretary of State at sosbiz.idaho.gov.

Report Volunteer Service Hours

Easily fill out an online form. Nonprofits are required by the IRS to report number of volunteers and service hours. As the umbrella organization for local units, Idaho PTA retains this information for IRS compliance.

In addition, this report helps demonstrate the incredible impact PTA volunteers make across Idaho. These hours tell a powerful story—one that helps us advocate for resources, recognition, and support at every level.

Pay National & Idaho PTA Dues

Report and pay online - OR Download the Membership Dues Remittance Form and mail the form and check for $7.50 per adult member or $4.00 per student to the Idaho PTA office: Idaho PTA, PO Box 1580, Meridian, ID 83680.

Update Insurance Premium

As a recognized PTA unit in Idaho, your group qualifies for exclusive discounted insurance rates through AIM Insurance—one of the many benefits of being part of the PTA network. These rates help ensure your events, board, and volunteers are protected, without putting unnecessary strain on your budget.

To keep your coverage current and your unit in good standing, please pay your annual insurance premium directly to AIM. For questions or assistance with your policy, their team is ready to help. Once you have secured insurance, retain a copy of proof of insurance in your files.

File Fiscal Year Form: IRS 990

Every local PTA unit must file the IRS Form 990 annually to maintain nonprofit status. Depending on your fiscal year, the form is due either November 15 or May 15. You can file by mail or submit electronically via the IRS e-postcard system. Once filed, please email or mail a confirmation to the Idaho PTA office and retain a copy in your local records for compliance.

Once you've completed the five required steps to stay in good standing, you're ready to take your PTA to the next level! These additional items help build a stronger, healthier PTA by enhancing communication, connection, and long-term impact in your school community.

Submit Membership list to Idaho PTA (5 member minimum)

Fill out online form OR email a spreadsheet with individual columns for your Local Unit Name (ex: Washington Elementary PTA) first name, last name, and email address of each member to Idaho PTA at info@idahopta.org

Download from Idaho PTA website and personalize your unit; have membership approval. Send approved copy to the state office at info@idahopta.org and retain original in your local unit files

Attend training provided at Region training sessions, Idaho PTA training sessions, or Idaho PTA Convention: Ongoing

One elected leader or their designee must attend at least one training session annually.

To stay in good standing with Idaho PTA, your local unit must complete Items 1–5. These required steps help ensure access to statewide programs like Reflections, eligibility for PTA awards and grants, and continued leadership support throughout the year.

Units that do not report any dues or membership by November 20 may be marked as not in good standing and could temporarily lose access to these benefits—but we’re here to help make sure that doesn’t happen!
