Local Unit Core Leadership
#1
At the center of every local unit is the CORE Leadership Team.
A strong Idaho PTA begins with committed leaders in good standing—a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and at least one additional leadership member as outlined in the Local Unit Uniform Bylaws. Maintaining this CORE ensures 501(c)(3) compliance, sound governance, accurate records, and alignment with Idaho PTA and National PTA standards.
To remain in good standing, submit your Local Unit Board information by June 1 each year and update your registered agent with the Idaho Secretary of State, as required in the Idaho PTA Standards of Affiliation. Report and pay Unit Leadership Membership Dues in your Idaho PTA Givebacks Dashboard. The minimum CORE cost is $37.50 ($7.50 per leadership member).
Beginning February 23, 2026, Idaho PTA will use Givebacks as the official platform for board submission, membership management, and streamlined compliance—making it easier for local units to stay organized, connected, and fully engaged in PTA programs, grants, awards, and statewide support.

Beyond the required CORE (5+ members), Idaho PTA celebrates growth through a Tiered Membership Model. Tier 1 includes 31+ members, Tier 2 includes 56+ members, and Tier 3 includes 81+ members. As membership grows, so does your unit’s impact, visibility, and ability to strengthen programs, advocacy, and support for Idaho’s children.
Volunteer Service Hours
#2
Submit by September 15
Volunteer Service Hours are a powerful reflection of the impact your PTA makes in your school and community. As a nonprofit organization, the IRS requires reporting of volunteer participation and service hours, and as the umbrella organization for local units, Idaho PTA collects this information to ensure 501(c)(3) compliance.
Beyond compliance, these hours tell the story of your unit’s dedication—whether through programs like Reflections, STEM nights, and family events; legislative advocacy and classroom support; or fundraising efforts that strengthen your school community.
Every hour represents time, talent, and heart given for Idaho’s children. Reporting your volunteer service hours helps Idaho PTA demonstrate statewide impact, advocate for resources, and celebrate the incredible difference PTA volunteers make every year.

Exclusive Insurance Rates
#3
Submit by November 1
As a recognized Idaho PTA unit, your local unit qualifies for exclusive discounted insurance rates through AIM Insurance—one of the benefits of PTA membership. This coverage protects your events, board, and volunteers while keeping costs manageable.
To remain in good standing, pay your annual premium directly to AIM and retain proof of insurance in your records. Once payment is complete, submit your insurance confirmation in the Idaho PTA Givebacks Dashboard.

Local Unit Annual Budget
#5
Submit by November 30
Each local PTA unit should review and approve its annual budget no later than November 30. A board-approved budget ensures responsible financial planning, transparency, and alignment with your unit’s goals for the year.
Once approved, retain a copy of the signed budget in your local unit files for your records.
Strong budgets support strong programs — and strong PTA impact.
